Why Not Penis Enlargement?

Why is "penis enlargement" such a taboo topic?  Whilst all the while, all kinds of body modification including piercing, cosmetic surgery and even breast augmentation surgery are now almost common place social phenomenons.

When it comes to breast enlargement, numerous studies, research and surgeries have been performed since the sixties. It is common place in our society and many women consider it almost for "recreational" purposes.  It has long gone the "taboo" route. 

Why do women undergo such radical treatment as to have surgery to enlarge their breasts?  In most cases it's about self confidence issues rather than anything else.  Reconstruction after breast cancer and other health considerations are surely valid reasons, but in most cases, it is either because women want to feel better about themselves and / or be more attractive to the opposite sex.

These are exactly the same reasons why men would consider penis enlargement.  They want to feel more confident and hopefully be more attractive to the opposite sex.  The premise is exactly the same as for women who enlarge their breasts.

Why is it then that breast enlargement surgery clinics far outnumber  the penis enlargement surgery clinics?  Why is it then that no serious study has been undertaken by the scientific and medical community to see whether penis enlargement is really possible?  There are numerous articles by doctor's and scientists who, without consideration, will just tell you outright that "penis enlargement is not possible".  Yet, the world abounds with anecdotal evidence that penis enlargement does work. 

There is a case where a company manufacturing a certain penis enlargement device wanted to submit their product for scientific scrutiny by the same "scientists" and "doctors" who would claim that penis enlargement is not possible, but when approached they would only react by saying : "It is quite inappropriate.  Penis enlargement is very much still taboo in our society and warrants no serious investigation as it is mainly sex obsessed individuals who are interested in it. This is not fair.  Men wanting to enlarge their penises do it for exactly the same reasons that women undergo breast enlargement or anybody else would undergo any kind of cosmetic surgery.  Whether it is the porn star who needs augmentation for their next movie, or whether it is for the normal confidence and self worth issues that are the main reasons for people undergoing cosmetic surgery, why is penis enlargement such a taboo?

Why are men who would "dare" express their desire to have a larger penis frowned upon?  They are branded as "sex obsessed" individuals.  And in most cases this is not true.  It is more often than not a case of men wanting to feel more confident about themselves and wanting to increase their self confidence, especially when it comes to attracting and dealing with the opposite sex. 

Breast enlargement is so common place today and such a natural part that it is almost expected.  Certainly in the entertainment, glamour and fashion industry it is almost compulsory.  But in most cases it is done for one reason only : to increase self confidence.  This is exactly the same reason why men consider penis enlargement.  Hardly ever is it because they are "sex crazed". 

It remains a mystery why both the scientific community and society at large still frowns upon penis enlargement as a subject, all the while that breast enlargement is such a common occurrence and almost accepted social norm.  This is hypocritical and can only be overcome by bringing the topic out into the open and understanding the underlying reasons for penis enlargement.  It is high time that penis enlargement goes main stream.  Serious study and demystification needs to take place.  This will have an effect where unscrupulous vendors, praying on the insecurities of men, are exposed and men can be educated and informed about what works and what doesn't.
