Goal to Help 100,000 People Through Unique Christian Advertising
Pixel Advertising its all the craze! What is it? where did it
come from? and is it truly effective? and what has that all to
do with Christians and helping 100,000 people? The original idea
for pixel advertising came about through a 21yr old english
student named Alex Tew The story goes that Alex was thinking
about ways to make a million dollars to pay off his university
loan so he after a brainstorming session, he came up with an
idea to create a website milliondollarhomepage.com where he
would sell advertising space to anyone who wanted it but in the
form of pixels. The idea was so unique and the media and press
coverage that he has received from it has created a massive
interest in this new form of advertising. Website owners who
have been advertising on various pixel websites are reporting a
massive increase in traffic to their sites on a consistent
basis. This has only increased the amount of people wanting to
try this bizarre yet highly effective form of advertising. Pixel
advertising basically involves a business or website providing
the pixel site with a image that they want displayed, they
select how big they want it displayed then they pay and their ad
is shown with a link back to their website. It goes without
saying, overnight pixel websites have started to appear with a
variety of different reasons for existing, but mainly to make
money for the owners. One such website has taken a completely
new and fresh approach to the pixel madness. The website
www.iwasthirsty.com owned and run by Jon Mills completely caters
to Christian businesses, organizations, churches and personal
websites offering Christians all over the world the same
opportunity of massive exposure and stampedes of traffic plus a
chance to have their sites listed for free through a full page
ad in one of the Leading Christian Magazines once the entire
site is filled. At 50 cents a pixel, Christian websites can have
a spot on the site and receive up to 5 years advertising, which
is how long the site will be hosted for to begin with. The Story
gets even more interesting Jon Mills doesn't plan on pocketing
the entire $500,000 that the site could generate if filled up
completely. No his goal is to donate $360,000 of it towards
building 100 Water Wells through the website Lifetoday.org
operated by the respected
Christian leaders, James and Betty
Robison. " We spend so much of our lives trying to get things
for ourselves, while all around us their is people who are barely
hanging on to life.. I can't just sit back and say I will pray
for them, I need to action" said Jon Mills. " The site has
started slowly but I know its only a matter of time, Christians
need to realize that we can only do so much by ourselves but
together we are capable of shaking nations. I'm hoping that
Christian businesses will understand that anything they give is
completely 100% tax deductable, so they will get it back and I
am sure God will bless them even more too."
Jon is documenting this entire project through his blog
iwasthirstyproject.com. He plans to keep people up to date on
the progress of the website and post receipts on the website as
they raise enough money for each of the 100 wells.
" Well right now, a well costs $3.600 and is capable of helping
on average 1,000 people, so being able to pay for 100 water
wells would mean 100,000 people would be helped, that's a city
for some folks!. I did spend a great deal of time trying decided
whether I should lower the price or raise it, but after working
out how much it was going to cost to pay for 100 water wells and
then pay for advertising on a continual basis I decided to
settle at 50 cents a pixel which is still a lot lower than most
websites out their but still enough to achieve the Goal."
" Once the entire website is filled up, I will be paying for a
full page ad in one of the Leading Christian Magazine, at this
time I am trying to pin down who would be the best magazine to
work with. This exposure alone for websites should be enough
reason for them to consider buying a block on the site, yet I
hope people will get inspired and challenged enough to want to
come on board and help me reach this goal of 100 water wells in
1 year."
Well it will be interesting to watch how this website develops
and the growing trend of pixel advertising
